Our ciders

All of our ciders are created using high-quality, hand-picked fruit cultivated on our very own Blue Bee Orchard. We looked to France and their long history of cider production for inspiration, and so our products showcase the best of both old and new world cider-making techniques.

Each cider reflects the unique flavours and personality of the Okanagan valley, or, as the French say, the “goût du terroir.” Gluten-free and never too sweet, our ciders let the natural fruit flavours and aromatics shine through, while having the perfect amount of bubble to enhance each sip.

Sparkling White Currant, Apple & Honey Cider

Delicate clover honey lends a touch of natural sweetness to our orchard-grown white currants and tangy, early-picked McIntosh apples.

This unique off-dry cider offers a rich bouquet of honey and fresh, crisp red apple with hints of kiwi, sour cherries and white pepper. There are undertones of roses and sage, and a medium to long peachy finish with fine bubbles. Gluten-free.

8%alc/vol – 375ml

Sparkling Red Currant, Apple & Honey Cider

Red currants grown on-site are blended with sharp Granny Smith apples and perfectly balanced with fragrant clover honey.

This cider is off-dry and presents traditional European red currants with a touch of black pepper, freshly picked blackberries and crisp, green apple. Strong and inviting secondary flavours of raspberry and cranberry are present, with medium to long fresh rhubarb finish and lively bubbles. Gluten-free.

8%alc/vol – 375ml

Sparkling Black Currant, Apple & Honey Cider

We’ve taken our own juicy black currants and combined them with tart, early-picked McIntosh apples and a hint of organic clover honey.

This off-dry cider is full of ripe, rich flavours of cassis, strawberry jam, peach and raspberry with a hint of vanilla and chocolate. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced with touches of black currant and crushed cherry pit. This gives a lovely tartness, which is then slightly softened by fine bubbles. Gluten-free.

8%alc/vol – 375ml

About La Petite Abeille

We named our cidery La Petite Abeille, or, the Little Bee. Bees are important to us for a couple of reasons. Not only do we recognize that bees are crucial to the pollination of our orchard and the health of the planet, but the bee has been a prominent symbol throughout French history, so we thought of the bee as a fitting ode to the place that initially inspired us to make our special sparkling-style cider.

With a wink and a nod to French cider-making savoir-faire, we have found our passion in creating bubbly, chic ciders right here on the Naramata Bench, and are so pleased to have our ciders find a place at your table.
